Small Business Saturday 2016November 16, 2016 1:25 pm
Small Business Saturday is back in South End on Saturday, November 26th! Come spend the day exploring all the local spots that make South End one of the nation’s top neighborhoods for small business. #HumbleBrag
Free holiday trolleys will circulate through South End from 10am-5pm to help you find unique apparel, art, gifts, food and craft beer at 200+ local businesses, 3 pop-up markets, and 70 places to eat and drink. Details about participating businesses are available in the Facebook event.
There are a million ways to #ShopSmall like a pro. Here are 6, for starters.
1. FUEL UP
In no uncertain terms, get coffee. Not Just Coffee at Atherton Market, the new Central Coffee on Camden Road, All Nations Coffee on Worthington Ave, Hex Coffee at Good Bottle (pictured below), and The Gallery South End all have you covered. Detoxing post-Thanksgiving? Try a juice from Luna’s Living Kitchen. Retoxing after Thanksgiving? You get a Tupelo Honey mimosa.
2. GRAB A BAG
#ShopSmall canvas totes designed by Rifle Paper Co will available (fo FREE) throughout South End at neighborhood brick-and-mortar shops. Supplies are limited to the first few shoppers, so pick a starting point like Savory Spice Shop, get there early to buy holiday gifts, snag limited edition swag, and hit the streets.
3. POP OFF
Nearly 100 vendors will be set up across 3 different one-day-only-pop-up-markets. Hyphens on hyphens. Have at it, you crazy kids!
- #ShopSmall Pop-up at Atherton Mill & Market: 2104 and 2130 South Boulevard
- #ShopSmall Pop-up at Charlotte Trolley Powerhouse Museum & Charlotte Art League: 1507 and 1517 Camden Road
- Dudeapalooza (gifts for guys and the people who love them) at C3 Lab: 2525 Distribution Street
4. EAT UP
5. WALK IT OUT
Holiday trolleys will be circulating on a fixed route, but maybe the Rail Trail is more your speed (#freespirit). Chart your own course through the heart of the neighborhood on two feet or two wheels. Post a selfie with public art en route to the next shop.
6. WINE DOWN
After an action-packed day of boosting the local economy, shopping for your people, and squeezing in a few #TreatYoSelf moments (no judgment), take the edge off with a drink at any of South End’s 25 breweries, bottle shops, wine bars and pubs. High five the Wooden Robot for a Small Business Saturday done right.
Come back soon! There’s always something going on around here…
