With a short holiday shopping season this year, it’s never too early to start talking about the best day of the holiday season… Small Business Saturday. An annual South End tradition, this year it’s back (on 11/29) and better than ever.

First, what is Small Business Saturday? Small Business Saturday is the day after the famous shopping day known as Black Friday (aka the brawl at the mall). It is the day after and its antithesis. Unlike Black Friday, Small Business Saturday offers you the chance to buy unique while supporting local vendors and the local economy. Instead of the hustle and bustle of the big boxes, join us in South End.

So why should you shop South End on Small Business Saturday?

You can park once! The Holiday Trolley will be running throughout the day with stops on Camden Road (South End’s main drag), at Atherton Mill and at a special pop-up shop at Triple C Brewing deemed “Shop Micro Local.

You can relax! There will be a hospitality station on the Food Truck Lot (the corner of Camden Road and Park Avenue) w/ some unique seating, a DJ, s’mores, free coffee/cider/hot chocolate and a food truck or two. This is just one spot of many where you will be able to take in the holiday spirit… without the chaos.

You can shop at unique vendors! Not only can you shop the 200 retailers of South End, we’re bringing in distinct products from around the region at a huge pop-up shop as well as the area’s finest fashion trucks, yes… Fashion Trucks.

You can find what you need! South End has 200 retailers. There will be free maps to every single location and concierges throughout the ‘hood to get you where you need to go.

You can support local! When you support local, the money stays local. When you shop at a chain, the money goes their home state. So aside from Lowes, your shopping options are limited if you want to support local.

Shop Small
