Learn More About Art

If one of your resolutions is to learn more about arts and culture, this is the perfect spot. Here, inspiring art isn’t confined to the walls of a coffee shop or the space of a gallery. You’ll find sculptures on your walk to work, murals on the entrance of your favorite restaurant, or pops of color on the side of an apartment building. In South End, art is all around. Check out the link below to find a tour of South End’s artwork—some new, some hidden, all amazing.

Another great way to get to know the galleries and artists in our neighborhood is at the gallery crawl on South End First Fridays. On the first Friday evening of every month, many neighborhood galleries (and the occasional unconventional space like a design studio or furniture shop) stay open late to host lively receptions for new art exhibitions with music, food and drink, and an opportunity to meet the artists. The galleries are always rotating interesting displays of everything from fine art oils and pastels, cityscape paintings, contemporary glass, sculpture, textiles and mosaic.
