#NoVacancyCLT: art you can touch

June 9, 2016 12:49 pm

no-vacancy-headerOnce in a while, a really, truly cool idea bubbles up in South End and we get more than ~a little~ excited about it. Such is the case with No Vacancy, a completely unprecedented, totally immersive audience experience that highlights “how spaces change people and people change spaces.”

No fourth wall. No division. All experience. ART YOU CAN TOUCH.

Creative geniuses Union Shop Studio and TAPROOT have combined their respective expertise in visual and performance arts to offer adventurous culture-seekers a new way to experience both.

On one hand, the built out “resort motel” will serve as a large-scale art installation that audience members can walk through, interact with, and rearrange as they feel led.

On the other hand, it will serve as the backdrop for performances from a diverse group of Charlotte artists, dancers, musicians, and storytellers.

We’re thrilled to be a sponsor for this epic mash-up happening inside C3 Lab, a creative hub in South End with everything from coworking to makerspace, located at 2525 Distribution Street.

No Vacancy will be our song of the summer. Loop it with us.
