January 26, 2011 9:06 pm

Taking place on January 28th & 29th, 2011 the Street Soccer USA Charlotte Invitational best known as “a unique sport for social change event” will feature homeless athletes from 5 cities across the country as well as a youth tournament for boys and girls (3 different age groups: U14, U12, U10), an open tournament for adults and a co-ed tournament. The tournaments feature fast-paced, 4 v 4 street soccer action. All tournaments will be located at the South End Fieldhouse and Futsal Factory facilities, in Historic South End.

This family-friendly event is a prime opportunity to get involved with the community and support our brave athletes who are achieving goals, both on and off the pitch. Proceeds from the tournament go to Street Soccer USA & The Urban Ministry Center.

This first class, three-day tournament honors the efforts of the homeless street soccer players and serves as a catalyst for life changing community, personal, and grassroots development programs among the homeless. On top of spotlighting social change through sport we will also have a youth tournament for boys and girls (3 different age groups: U14, U12, U10), an open tournament for adults and a co-ed tournament. The event will showcase soccer at all levels of play and bring the community together in celebration.
